1987 was an exciting year for quads in general. This model year brought a full line of models to the showroom floor as the ban on wheeled ATC's took effect. Kawasaki entered the market with a quad version of the popular Tecate in an attempt to rival Honda's popular 250R and the Suzuki Quad Racer. Yamaha also followed suit with their first offering of the Banshee. Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha were basking in the glory of a whole new, profitable market in 87 as not only the racer market was growing but the utility market began to take shape. Genuine 1987 quad parts are still available for any production models from the big four, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha. You can also save some money buying used parts for your '87 if you're not necessarily looking to fully restore your entire quad.
