CMS is still the best bet if you need Honda ATV, Kawasaki ATV, Suzuki ATV, or Yamaha ATV parts. They have some unique gift ideas for the motor-head in your life also, little late for Christmas noticing this, but that's how it goes.

Trike Pow-Wow / Re: 1986 350X Three Wheelers
August 13, 2022, 04:29:14 AM
The 350X is a classic but you'll find more old resto's now than barn finds.

All the most popular parts have been repro'd so it's just the odds and ends that will get you if you're looking to do a full restoration.

BNX UTV Side by Sides

Anybody have experience with BNX UTV's. I would like to see some pics or some info on these machines from someone who owns one. There's a BNX parts page here at BTAQ but not a lot of info or owner feedback.

Common Questions about UTV's:

Are BNX UTV's made in China?

Are BNX UTV's reliable and durable?

Where to buy BNX UTV parts?

What kind of motor is in BNX UTV's?

ATV Pow-Wow / Re: ATV Dealer Financing
June 27, 2020, 06:09:42 AM
ATV dealer financing is a double edged sword. If you're trying to build credit and you really need a new quad, financing at the ATV dealer may be your only choice. An ATV loan like this can help build your credit.

The down side to ATV dealer financing is that money isn't cheap at the dealership. You will pay more in the end.

If you bought the DVX used, start with fresh oil so you know what's in there. As for future oil changes, I wouldn't go crazy. Some guys get carried away with changing oil when it wasn't needed. Just monitor for discoloration, the contaminants in the oil are not your friend, if there is none there you have nothing to worry about.

It is proven that aftermarket silencers add to the performance of an ATV, but I personally avoid them. I don't think the gains are worth the trouble or the noise level.

ATV Pow-Wow / Re: DVX ATV Exhaust Springs
June 27, 2020, 06:03:29 AM
It's far fetched that exhaust spring would stretch out. Unless you can physically see it as being distorted I don't see this being a problem. There are cases when they stretch or break but it would be obvious to the naked eye.
#14
The battery being tested under load is the only way to zero in on a problem like this. In other words, the voltage drop during the cranking of the starter will signify if you have a battery problem or another issue.

Should see 12.5V DC at rest and should see at least 9.75 Volts DC while the starter is cranking. Make sure your meter is on DC volts.

ATV Pow-Wow / Re: Purple DVX Plastics

Maier plastics are available for most models and in many colors. Try Dennis Kirk or googling. The Maier plastics have improved in quality over the years and they are a good choice.

ATV Pow-Wow / Re: Aftermarket Crankshaft Hole Plug

you might ba able to match it up at an auto parts store, if not try Ebay. There are universal plugs listed there all the time.

DVX Air filter change --->

If you bought the DVX or any ATV used, I would replace it if it looks bad, once you've changed it out I would just clean it regularly. They should last for years even if you're riding in dusty areas.

Harley's street trikes are worth checking out just because they're Harley Davidson's. The FLHTCUTG Tri-Glide and FLRT Freewheeler Trike are two good examples of classic street trikes.

The GSXR600 has a great reputation, I have a friend who swore by his bike. I can't add anything else since I didn't own it myself.
#28
Depends how much you are borrowing. I would never use motorcycle dealer financing for a large loan, but if it were a small investment it may be fine. With a private bank loan you'll almost always get a better rate on financing a motorcycle or anything else. I believe the dealerships actually make money on the financing.

YFZR6 is a good looking machine. That's about all I can add since I see them pretty often but never actually rode one.
