Thinking about UTV purchase this year, what is the UTV brand to avoid? Anything white elephants I should watch out for?

Quick question for the forum here, what's the best UTV for snow riding? Is there something I need to look for specifically? Is there a clear winner or not?

Ducati Versus Kawasaki in 2023 you say?

It is difficult to say which brand makes a better bike between Ducati and Kawasaki because it ultimately depends on personal preference and the intended use of the motorcycle.

Ducati is known for its high-performance motorcycles with advanced engineering and design. The brand has a long history in racing and is known for its sporty and powerful motorcycles. Ducati bikes are typically more expensive than Kawasaki bikes and are designed for riders who want a high-performance machine that can handle challenging conditions and provide a thrilling riding experience.

Kawasaki, on the other hand, is known for its wide range of motorcycles that cater to different riding styles and purposes. The brand produces everything from sportbikes to cruisers to off-road bikes, and is known for its affordability and reliability. Kawasaki bikes are typically more affordable than Ducati bikes and are designed for riders who want a reliable and practical machine that can handle daily commuting or weekend rides.

Both brands have their strengths and weaknesses, and the choice between them ultimately comes down to personal preference and the intended use of the motorcycle. If you are looking for a high-performance machine that can handle the track or spirited riding, a Ducati might be the better choice. If you are looking for a reliable and practical machine that can handle commuting or weekend rides, a Kawasaki might be a better choice.

I like 999 Ducati's. Ducati 999 page

April 18, 2023, 05:37:27 AM
KTM does make street motorcycles. KTM is primarily known for its off-road and racing motorcycles, but the company also produces a range of street motorcycles for different riding styles and purposes.

KTM's street motorcycle lineup includes models such as the Duke, RC, Adventure, and Super Duke. These bikes range from sporty and aggressive naked bikes to adventure touring motorcycles and powerful naked street bikes.

The KTM Duke is a popular street bike that comes in different displacements ranging from 125cc to 890cc. It features a lightweight chassis, high-performance engine, and sharp styling that make it a popular choice for riders who want a sporty and agile motorcycle.

The KTM RC series includes sporty motorcycles designed for racing and track days. These bikes feature a fully-faired design, aggressive styling, and high-performance engines.

The KTM Adventure lineup includes adventure touring motorcycles designed for long-distance travel on and off-road. These bikes feature a comfortable riding position, advanced suspension systems, and high-performance engines that make them suitable for touring, commuting, and off-road adventures.

Finally, the KTM Super Duke is a powerful naked street bike that comes with a high-performance engine, aggressive styling, and advanced electronics that make it a popular choice among riders who want a sporty and powerful motorcycle.

Overall, KTM makes a range of street motorcycles that cater to different riding styles and purposes, from sporty naked bikes to adventure touring motorcycles and powerful street bikes.

Their bikes look interesting anyway

Eton seemed like it was gaining in popularity at least for a little while before fading into ATV history. I've actually seen a couple out in the wilderness being exercised.

Powersports Websites / Re: Dirt Bike Magazine
April 09, 2023, 04:15:06 AM
Quote from: animal on August 10, 2022, 05:20:36 AMI also see good deals on eBay for vintage dirt bike magazines since you can cherry pick which issue you want. Cherry pick magazines and even though they may cost more you will only get the articles and photos you want.

I agree to just look on Ebay, there are old dirt bike magazines going back to the 70's at reasonable prices. These magazines have some long-outdated reading material that ends up being really interesting when you see how primitive the technology was. This site here has a page of dirt bike magazines but nothing vintage.

ATV Pow-Wow / Re: Yamoto ATV Project Machine

Here's some more pics of the state of affairs with this Yamoto ATV. You can appreciate my exhaust rust, frame rust, and extreme engine corrosion/oxidation.

Best solution here would probably be to order a new Yamoto! I'm not taking that route though.

ATV Pow-Wow / Yamoto ATV Project Machine
August 12, 2022, 04:07:31 AM
Hello guys,
I have started a Yamoto project on a Yamoto 70cc machine. It's a mess, not sure where this is going... These ATV's appear to be typical of the Chinese ATV's based on the build and the quality. If anybody has some thoughts or some experience with these ATV's I would appreciate hearing something.

Here's my new project:
