OEM or Aftermarket Kraze Parts

The use of OEM (or original equipment manufacturer) Wet Jet parts will always be recommended by Wet Jet for any repair, of course.

OEM parts are basically parts that were built by another company for sale only to Wet Jet. The manufacturer, in turn sell these official Kraze repair parts to you.

The parts are not available directly from the company that actually made the item, but through a Wet Jet authorized parts dealer.

This way, Wet Jet has full control over the spare parts availablilty as well as the compatibilty with your Kraze. For some Kraze parts, you have aftermarket options, these parts have been engineered and built to replace or improve on the original design.

This is perfectly fine, but some watercraft owners still look for aftermarket solutions to their problem. There are positives and negatives to aftermarket Wet Jet parts. With the Wet Jet brand, sometimes you will be lucky to find anything at all that is still available.

If you can find parts, the biggest advantage is the pricing which is typically below the OEM cost. One disadvantage of using aftermarket products is that the manufacturer may claim the aftermarket parts create safety concerns for a jet ski or personal watercraft. In the case of Wet Jet PWC's, they are long obsolete so this won't be the case here.

There is also a lack of a recall system in the event a potential problem arises with the aftermarket part. Also, the possibility of voiding a warranty on your jet ski looms overhead if your watercraft is new enough, which again, wouldn't pertain to a long-obsolete Wet Jet.

One last disadvantage of using aftermarket parts for your Kraze, could be a diminished value on the watercraft when it comes time to sell. However, with the last Wet Jet watercraft rolling off the assembly line well over 15 years ago, I don't think this applies here either.

To sum it all up, beggers can't be choosers and overall replacement parts are getting harder to find each year. The Kraze and the other Wet Jet models are slowly falling into the realm of the vintage jet ski.

How to Find Kraze Parts

Finding factory original replacement parts for your Kraze jet ski is becoming more difficult. With the discontinuation of the Wet Jet brand of watercraft, most Mastercraft boat dealers no longer support replacement parts.

And then there is eBay. The world's marketplace has thousands of individual sellers. These sellers are a mix of commercial businesses and private owners. What you will find is a combination of new and used Kraze parts listed for sale.

If you're not in a hurry, you can bargain hunt. They have an email alert feature that will notify you of a new listing by email. This tool is a money saver if you are bargain hunting and have some time to make your purchase.

As for repair parts that are needed asap to get back on the water? They give sellers the option of adding a "buy it now" feature to their product listings.

Next up, an unlikely candidate, Amazon the discount reail website. Primarily known for discount books and electronics, you may not think they can help.

They actually list some OEM and aftermarket watercraft parts. In some cases, they will ship your order for free if you exceed their $35.00 minimum order.

Although the selection isn't great, it is still worth a look since you may stumble on a deal or the odd-ball part you need to complete your Wet Jet. At the same time, you might find yourself paying a discount price.

Overall, your chances of finding aftermarket products here are better, they also have quite a bit of watersport accessories to add the the glory of jet skiing.
